YOUR ONLINE PORTFOLIO PAGES

For Artists -- We'll create your Artist Resource Portfolio pages on this site, under the heading 'artistresource/Your Name' which will be accessible from anywhere in the world. A link to your portfolio will be posted on the Member Artists page. The number of pages depends your request, according to the fees listed on the Portfolio Services page. Please read them carefully.

For Staff Members -- We'll create your Online Portfolio pages on this site, under the heading 'artistresource/Your Name' which will be accessible from anywhere in the world. A link to your portfolio will be posted on the About Us/Staff page, and the Member Artists page. The number of pages depends on your staffing commitment, and the size of the artwork will be determined by how many pieces you submit and how much room there is on your pages. I'll post from 1 to 5 pieces and your resume. Please check out the Staffing Guidelines before submitting your work.

For Featured Artists -- Remember, to become a Featured Artist, you must submit a publishable, art-related story. Your pages will be linked from the Index page, your art-related story or article, and from the Member Artists page. You'll get 5 image pages, and 2 pages for a thumbnail index and resume. Please check out the Story Submission Guidelines before submitting your story.

LAYOUT

When we create your Online Portfolio, we will give you some simple choices about layout, like choosing a background color, centering your text, or including a logo or signature. Unfortunately, we cannot create an elaborate new layout with frames, animation and other bells and whistles. For an example of a typical portfolio, see Leanne Taylor's Portfolio

YOUR RESUME

     Your Resume should list shows you've been in in the past five years, any awards, any commissions or projects, and publications your work has been shown in or reviewed, and/or articles about you as an artist. You should also include an Artist's Statement and/or Bio -- whatever you feel will show off your professionalism and experience. Include your contact information.
     Send your Resume text in the BODY of an email (or on disk). You can just copy the text from an existing document and paste it right into your email window.
     Please also send your Artist's Statement or Bio in the BODY of an email (or on disk).

FORMATTING YOUR IMAGES

     You can provide the images as digital files, photographs, 35mm slides or good color output or copies.
       If you supply your images as photos they'll go up within a week. If you supply them as slides they'll go up within two weeks. If you need photographs or slides of your work, we recommend Stephen Poe Photography in San Francisco.
     Acceptable digital file formats for images are TIFF, JPEG, GIF, EPS. You should reduce each file size to about 150k (in Photoshop or Painter). I'll re-size them if necessary, but I won't crop them.
     If your images are too large, you can reduce your file size by changing either the inch measurements (dimensions) OR the pixels per inch (resolution). The resolution should be 72 ppi/dpi. In Photoshop, go to the Image menu, choose Image Size, and 'resample' image. Then change the dimensions or resolution until the image measures 150k. (If your images are already small, DON'T make them larger. That would just add more pixels without adding more detail. )

SUBMITTING YOUR IMAGES

== By email
If you scanned your images or created them on the computer, send each one as an attachment to a separate email. That way, if there is a problem with one file, I'll still get the others. (Somewhere in your email window or menus there will be a button, or icon, or line of text that says 'attach file.' Sometimes it's an icon of a paper clip.)
     In the Body of each email, please list the following information about the images: Title, Medium, Size, Date of Completion (optional), and Price. Tell me which program you used to edit the images.

== By snailmail
      Label each image with the title and your name, protect them with cardboard, and enclose a stamped, self-addressed envelope for their return. Use the same precautions with disks.
       Please enclose the following information about the images you sent: Title, Medium, Size, Date of Completion, and Price (if applicable).

== Send all materials to the address below
